Self Defence
(incorporated into both classes) In these modern times, it seam to be that thugs are turning more to weapons related crime than ever before, in the time a attack happens (usually someone has the upper hand in less than 5 seconds) many people would panic and have very little idea how to defend themselves.. our basic defence could make all the difference to being alive or a statistic. |

Body Conditioning
(incorporated into both classes) lets be honest, we could all do with a bit.. In our family based classes , we regularly train to firm up those areas that we use to block and punch, to avoid the shock of pain should we need to use our weapons (our fists & arms) for defence. Karate by its meaning (open handed / weapon less combat) teaches us to strengthen areas that you would not normal strike with, thus giving you the upper hand over attackers.

Break
Boards / Chambra (incorporated into both classes) we have all seen martial artists punching through seemingly impossible objects such as bricks and wood. well in our classes you can train on our rebreakable boards to do this. always a hit (pardon the pun) with the students, and also teaches you to punch with accuracy and technique rather than pure power. Great for getting life stress out too.. we also use foam padded swords in the class, usually at the end as a wind down, which are called Chambra. these are also great for taking out some of that energy without getting hurt. |
Cardio Work
(incorporated into both classes) As much as we all detest a hard work out , compared to a sit down and rest. If we are honest we could all do with a bit more exercise to get the blood pumping. modern life styles rarely give us a chance to work up a sweat, but as we all know in the back of our minds, this is something we need to get into a routing with. Cardio work is an addictive drug to the human body releasing endorphins into the system which basically makes you feel good.. and that cannot be a bad thing surely ?
